More debt is good

Power

I got one of those unusual-convention-defying advice from the Rich Dad Academy.

Increase your credit limit in all your credit cards, the speaker said. Have more debt, was the unspoken advice.

The reason: having access to a huge amount of money at the time you need money (and you will need money) will open up your world to more opportunities. The unspoken caveat: use it only to further a business or for personal development (read: do not purchase duds). Again, the unspoken: pay it off before you incur interest.

If you think about it, credit cards could be great. It will give you access to money that  you have 30 days to pay for. Except – it could make you overspend.

Anyway, take the advice for what it is and know the pitfalls if you do.

And here’s how to increase your credit (and get some other extras):

What is your why?

Getting to the why

I attended the 3-day seminar of the Rich Dad Academy in Vancouver and learned a lot. This is what I love about seminars – and why I keep going to them – I get insights and learn new ways – more effective ways – of doing things. In the next few days, I will be sharing them with you and I hope your lives will be enriched too.

Some of us plod along this world not knowing what we are here for. We walk our paths, fall into our usual pattern, surprise ourselves some of the time, and when the excitement dies, wonder why we still have that big hole in our chest. The answer is not within, but without – that is, outside of us.

Who do you live for? What do you live for?

Is it your children or your family? (but please do not have that reason just because every other person says it should be so)

Do you dream of making it big? (does it get you awake nights, to plot, to plan, to see in your mind’s eye how that could be)

Is it money – a lot of money – so you can make a difference in your life and in the world? (have you seen need, have you felt need, do you want to erase it from yourself, your memory, the world)

Is it recognition? Is it acceptance? (what happened in your early life that made this matter in your now)

Who’s going to the Rich Dad Academy?

Caught

Before we stepped out of the car, I told my friend they will sell us this and that at the Rich Dad Education Workshop.

After all, despite all the freebies and the come-hither, it is a marketing event that we are going to. I told her (self-assuredly) I do not easily say yes. That in fact, I have never been embarrassed to say no – and that if it is not worth it, I would say no. She assured me she is the same. I breathed easy since I made a full disclosure and that there is someone watching my back in case I totter and fall.

I tottered and fell (my friend did too).
